Learn how to find compatible e-bike parts by checking bike model, voltage, connector type, wheel size, brake type, and original part details.
E-bike parts can be frustrating because many of them look similar online. The problem is that similar does not mean compatible.
Before ordering a part, collect a few details from your bike. Write down the brand, model, year, battery voltage, motor type, wheel size, and any numbers printed on the old part.
Photos help a lot. Take pictures of the old part, connector, label, plug shape, mounting points, and where it sits on the bike. If you ask for support, those photos can save several emails.
For batteries, voltage is critical. A 36V battery is not a replacement for a 48V system. You also need to check the shape, mounting rail, connector, charge port, and physical size.
For chargers, match voltage and plug type. Do not buy only because the plug looks close. A wrong charger can damage the battery.
For tires and tubes, the size printed on the tire sidewall is your best friend. Match diameter and width.
For brake pads, check the pad shape and brake model if possible. Many pads look almost the same, but small differences matter.
For displays, controllers, throttles, and sensors, things get more technical. Voltage, connector type, wiring, and communication protocol can all matter. This is where guessing from photos often goes wrong.
If you are not sure, ask before ordering. Send the bike model, old part photos, and any labels you can find.
Buying the right part is mostly about slowing down and checking details. A few minutes of checking can save days of returns and frustration.
